Learn about an interesting, thought provoking, intelligent man; then learn about me!

I lied, I’m not going to teach you about any interesting, thought provoking, intelligent man. I will tell you a little about myself. I can go on and on about myself (there is so much to tell), however, I will only concentrate on the unchanging facts.

I am a Mac Addict, not just someone who uses a computer for a few things, I use my Macs for anything I can possible think of and accomplish. In fact, if there is a stronger word than addict, it would fit me. The Apple computer line is certainly a constant in my life, and one of the strongest. I have owned 1 iMac DV, 1 Powermac G4 Mirrored Drive Door, 1 12" iBook (Dual USB), 1 14" iBook G4, 1 Powerbook (Bronze keyboard), 1 15" Macbook Pro, and 1 17" Macbook Pro. I have also had access to a countless number of Apple computers owned by my High School, College, and Work.

I went to High School at State College Area High. I was a decent student, however I found socializing a better use of my time then homework. I would also question teachers during lectures and often it would sound like I was trying to be disruptive. That could not of been further from the truth, I was just curious. I understand that asking “why” for each ascending question does get annoying.

I was never far from trouble in high school. I often did things before thinking, often leading to detention, suspension, and reflection. One of my more famous mistakes would be “Tequila Toothpicks”. So I soaked tooth picks in alcohol and took them to school. When your a kid, drinking is about as cool as flavored toothpicks. As I handed them out before the first class, I was telling everyone what they were, and everyone seemed to like them. I suppose someone overheard me, wether it be student or teacher, and I was turned in. The assistant principle found me in first period class (about 5 minutes into Drivers Ed) and took me to the office. Who knew that toothpicks would get me 2 weeks suspension?

During high school I would help my father teach software to different school teachers. I would help teach Adobe programs, sound programs, and web development programs. Each summer was a new class with new students. A few of the classes would include teachers from my school who had already been my teacher or ended up being my teacher.

After high school I was immediately entered into Penn State University. I had two summer classes; Philosophy and Speech. I finally had a atmosphere where asking “why” was O.K. For better or worse, I did not do well at all in class, in fact I barley passed speech (I wrote speeches the morning of class). Its not because I hated the teachers, or they couldn’t teach, I just didn’t want to learn. Soon enough I was failing classes like a champ and was expelled from the school. It wasn’t a big deal for me, don’t ask my parents what they thought.

After School I had a few years to figure out what I wanted to do. I had always thought that a career in computers would make me hate to use a computer at home. After a year, I decided that if I could fix a computer by myself, teach others how to use a computer, and if I wanted to stay on the leading edge of I.T. I should get a computer degree. So thats what I did.

I am following a career in Apple computer repair and maintenance. I am not doing the same for Windows. I figured I should stick with the operating systems that will be used by a majority of people (This is My prediction - 1/17/06). I went to South Hills School of Business and Technology for Computer Information Systems: Network Administration. I was mainly schooled in the maintenance of Windows computers, however there were 2 classes that I found to be indispensable; Unix Essentials and Unix Admin. Without my Unix classes, my ability to administrate the current OS X would have been paralyzed.

A few years after finishing school, my long time girlfriend, Bree and I got married. It was a great ceremony and reception on April 20th, 2006.

I have been working at Penn State in the College of Education for the past 3 years, give or take a few months. I enjoy my work, even though sometimes I want to scream. It gives me an opportunity to work with a diverse crowd of people and tools. I have achived the Apple Certified Protable Technician certificate allowing me to work on in-warrenty Apple laptops. I am still planning on heading back to school, I just have not figured out what for. I'm always thinking about switching careers.

If your reading this, chances are you know that I have had a baby boy, Brodie Danger Myers. He's a joy to hang out with. He is already spoiled by his grandparents and great-grandparents, but what can one expect. He was born at 7:49am, August 24th, 2007. He weighted 9 pounds, 5 ounces and was 22" long.

Recently I recived my Apple Certified Macintosh Technition 2008 from Apple. I also got my Apple Certified Deskop and Portable Techition from Apple. I am very proud to have these and plan on getting a few more certifications from Apple.

I hope you now know more about me than you need to. Enjoy the rest of the web site!
